Disney cruises are known for their impressive size and magical itineraries.

But exactly how many ships does Disney Cruise Line have?

As of 2025, the current fleet includes six incredible ships.

And, according to recent announcements, we can expect more coming soon.

But so far, all six ships are designed to deliver magical experiences for families — with features, entertainment, and dining options that are so uniquely Disney.

The Current Disney Cruise Line Fleet

Disney Cruise Line operates six ships, each offering something special for travelers:

Disney Magic. This is the first Disney cruise ship, launched in 1998. It can carry around 2,700 passengers and features attractions like the AquaDunk slide and Tangled-themed entertainment.

Disney Wonder. The sister ship to Disney Magic, the Disney Wonder launched in 1999. It includes Frozen-themed shows and other character attractions — including a fun New Orleans-style restaurant reminiscent of Tiana’s Place (from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog)

Disney Dream. Launched in 2011, this ship can accommodate up to 4,000 passengers. It features the AquaDuck water coaster alongside elegant dining experiences like the Royal Palace.

Disney Fantasy. Introduced in 2012, the Disney Fantasy ship can also carry around 4,000 passengers. It’s packed with family-friendly activities like Star Wars-themed adventures and Animator’s Palate dining.

Disney Wish. One of the newest additions to the Disney fleet, the Disney Wish launched in 2022. It has innovative attractions like the AquaMouse water ride, a Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge, and the Marvel Super Hero Academy for kids.

Disney Treasure. This is the latest in Disney’s cruise lineup. The Disney Treasure launched in December 2024. With 1,250 staterooms, this ship can carry around 4,000 guests.

These ships under the Disney Cruise line vary in size, style, and onboard experiences.

So rest assured there’s a cruise for every family.

What New Ships Are Coming to Disney Cruise Line?

How many ships does Disney Cruise Line have?

There are currently six in its roster, but the company has already announced that it will be expanding its fleet with two more ships, bringing the total up to eight.

These upcoming additions are:

  • Disney Destiny: Debuting in November 2025, this ship will carry 2,500 passengers. According to sources, this ship will feature a “Heroes and Villains” design theme, which sets it apart from typical Disney cruise ships.
  • Disney Adventure: Launching in December 2025, the Disney Adventure promises to be Disney’s largest ship. It will be capable of hosting 6,000 passengers and will sail primarily from Singapore. This route will potentially introduce new destinations for Disney cruises.

What’s more, Disney has plans to grow its fleet to 13 ships by 2031, with four more unnamed vessels expected after 2027.

This expansion will allow the Disney Cruise Line to offer more routes and destinations around the world.

Unique Features Across the Fleet

Each Disney cruise ship is designed with unique features that make it stand out.

Here are some highlights:

  • Disney Magic: Home to the AquaDunk slide and Tangled-themed entertainment.
  • Disney Wonder: Features Frozen Adventures and Tiana’s Place for a lively, New-Orleans-style dining experience.
  • Disney Dream: Known for the AquaDuck coaster and luxurious dining options.
  • Disney Fantasy: Offers Star Wars-themed activities and the interactive (and highly-rated) Animator’s Palate restaurant.
  • Disney Wish: Includes the AquaMouse water ride, Marvel Super Hero Academy, and a Star Wars-themed lounge exclusively for adults.
  • Disney Treasure: Promises exciting new attractions and dining options for families.

No two ships under the Disney Cruise Line are the same, so you can enjoy a new adventure with every Disney cruise.

Passenger Capacity on Disney Cruise Line Ships

The size of each Disney cruise ship varies.

Passenger capacities range from 2,700 to 6,000 passengers per ship.

Disney Magic and Disney Wonder can both hold up to 2,700 guests.

Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have a 4,000-passenger capacity.

Disney Wish and Disney Treasure also have a max cap of 4,000 per ship.

Only Disney Adventure, Disney’s upcoming “largest ship,” will break the range with a whopping 6,000-guest limit.

These ships are carefully designed to ensure a comfortable and magical experience, even when at full capacity.

Why Is Disney Expanding Its Fleet?

Disney Cruise Line is expanding its fleet to meet the growing demand for family-friendly cruises.

By adding more ships, Disney can offer new itineraries and reach new destinations, like Southeast Asia with the Disney Adventure.

This growth also allows Disney to innovate with new features and designs.

It also ensures the Disney cruise experience is kept fresh, with each ship offering something new and different for returning travelers.
